->Game OST Updated (Menu Theme)!

Welcome again to the Spirit Huntress Development Blog! I've been working really hard learning the GML, making music for the game OST (using FLStudio 8) and some sprite animations for Hibari, the main character of the game.

Today I'd like to show you some screens about something I've been working recently: the water enviroment, and the wall-jumping.

I made some kind of "beta scenario" to test the water engine. You can see it at the screen below, but please notice that is only a beta version, and may not be nothing compared to what you see in the final version of the game (although I plan to do some kind of "water cave" level in the final game).

I didn't know what kind of water enviroment include in the game. Super Mario bros. kind? Maybe a Metroid/Sonic the hedgehog kind? After too much thinking, I decided to use the Metroid/Sonic one: you sink into the water until you reach the bottom, and you can't swim; however; you can jump higher, and when you are underwater, you move very very slowly.
Of course, your O2 is not unlimited. You'll have to get out the water to catch a breath, or else you'll drown.

Other thing I've been working very hard in, is the wall-jumping issue. When in the air, near to a wall, you can press the direction key pointing to the wall and the jump key ("S") to wall-jump against the wall, and reach taller places. You can do it several times to climb up narrow paths.

I'm like a newbie to Game Maker, but I managed to program a double jump and a wall-jump engine succesfully, thanks to some tutorials in Yo-yo Games, and of course, tons of patience.

But it's not programming all I've been working about. I've compossed two .mp3 songs for the game. One of them, the Main Menu Theme (you know, where you can choose between New Game, Continue, Extras, or Exit) is finished. I've updated the "Game OST" gadget you can find just below the Chatboard. I hope you like it!

This is all for now. Wait for another post the next week, showing new screenshots, a new Game OST theme, and maybe a new featured fanart! Thank you for reading!
